The Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanam chairman, Mr Adikeshavulu Naidu, on Monday expressed his happiness over the serials telecast by the Sri Venkateswara Bhakthi Channel bagging the state governmnet’s 2008 Nandi TV and Film awards.
Speaking to mediapersons along with TTD executive officer, Mr I V R Krishna Rao, and the Bhakthi Channel Officer on Special Duty, Mr Yuvaraj, at the TTD Kalyana Mandapam here, Mr Adikeshavulu Naidu said that he felt very proud for the Sri Venkateswara Channel getting 11 Nandi awards for 2008 which was historic and unforgettable.
One of the Bhakthi Channel serials “Matrusri Tharigonda Vengamamba” was adjudged as the Best TV mega serial and awarded Golden Nandi. Besides, its director, Mr Udayabhaskar, and Best leading actor, Ms Meena were awarded Silver Nandis. Mr V Bhaskara Raju was adjudged as the best art director and was presented with Copper Nandi, he added.
Similarly, “Srusti” was adjudged as the second best TV serial and awarded silver Nandi. The villain in the same serial, actor Ranganath, best costume designer Prakash Rao, and Best Graphics by Shankar Reddy were awarded Copper Nandis. Mr Nalluri Sudheer Kumar was selected as the best music director for “Sreenivasa Mandaram” serial and awarded Copper Nandi. In “Purana Gathalu” serial, Mr Raja got Copper Nandi as best dubbing artiste. Similarly, Mr Bachampalli Santosh Kumar Shastri was awarded Copper Nandi for being chosen as best male anchor for “Guru Devo Bhava” serial, he added.
The TTD executive officer, Mr Krishna Rao, said that the TTD Bhakthi Channel got covetous awards for the dedicated efforts of the artistes. The TTD would encourage artistes who strove for propagation of Hindu Dharma among the masses spiritually.
